MEET: KATE ERIKSEN

As a former competitive dancer who thrived on the rigorous and all-consuming training that comes along with it, Kate’s fitness journey started at a very young age. After dancing and cheering throughout high school and college, she had to redefine her fitness routine and goals trying out a little bit of everything. In 2019, she was introduced to her first jump class and hasn’t stopped doing high-knees since. Here is a glimpse into the mind of #nobreakkate.

 

How do you want the SPRNG community to feel after taking one of your classes?

By fostering a growth-mindset, I want my SPRNG clients to feel as though they are able to accomplish more than they thought possible. I want them to feel stronger, re-energized and motivated to work even harder in their next class. Aside from accomplishing their fitness goals, I hope my SPRNG clients feel a sense of community that is here to support them throughout all of their endeavors.

What does studio SPRNG mean to you?

SPRNG to me is an escape from the daily woes. It is a safe place where I can de-stress, connect with others and work hard to exceed personal goals. Not once have I left a SPRNG class in a bad mood; the music is too fun, the people are too inspiring and the sweat is well, refreshing!

What’s your WHY?

My why is my family. I want to be the best version of myself, no matter what age I am and SPRNG ensures that for me.

When you aren’t instructing, where can we find you?

You can catch me in an 8th grade language arts classroom having an absolute blast with my students. I am currently in my seventh year of teaching and find that much of who I am as a teacher shines through while instructing my SPRNG classes.

All of them!

Go-to SPRNG move?

High knees all day in any combination. Let’s burn those calories!

Dream SPRNG pop-up location?

Radio City Music Hall. Did I mention I spent time training with the NYC Rockettes?
